The time has finally come to play some 86ers sandlot. The recent rain tried to ruin our party but we sandloted our way to getting the game in. With a swamp of an infield, we measured out a diamond in the grass. And to really make it all work. The River City Honey Busters built a portable pitchers mound the day before the game. It was a fantastic piece of hustler's art.
The weather was beautiful and the vibe was electric. But the 86ers stumbled / fell on their face for the first 3 innings. While the Busters looked like they have seen a baseball since December. The blowout later became a late rally attempt by the 86ers but just wasnt enough. Some highlights were that Oak Cliff's new comers Jack Wilgus and Sebastian Nava fit into the lineup with no problems. Sixers pitcher Jeremy Kleiber held things down to give the team a chance but there just wasn't enough juice to pull it out. A wonderfull time was had by all regardless of the final score.
Next 86ers game is Sunday March 19th 1pm at Lake Cliff Park vs North Texas Barnstormers.
